A través de la creación de esculturas e instalaciones escultóricas, doy sustancia a cuestiones controvertidas centradas en el ser humano. Examino el concepto de tiempo y cómo se percibe subjetivamente, así como también, cómo lo interpretamos en el momento presente. A través del espacio y la materia, enfatizo las cualidades de orgánico y fluido, versus estructurado y estático. Cómo el todo como concepto o elemento, se descompone y se vuelve autónomo; y cómo la realidad consciente y subconsciente se entrelazan y finalmente se manifiestan a través de una mirada contemporánea multidimensional.
En mis composiciones utilizo técnicas mixtas, arcilla, yeso, plexiglás, luz y videoarte. En el proceso, mi interacción con la sustancia evolucionó para ser más orgánica y transformadora, e inevitablemente la arcilla se ha convertido ahora en mi principal forma de expresión.

Holism Variables

(«holismo» del griego όλος holos "todo, entero, completo")

Quiero crear 6 objetos medianos (aprox. 20 a 30 cm de largo), utilizando técnicas de construcción de losas. Estos objetos tendrán diferentes colores y tendrán una estética abstracta, pareciendo cintas enredadas conectadas de principio a fin. Estas formas tendrán cualidades orgánicas y terrosas y, al mismo tiempo, serán vibrantes, audaces y expresivas, inspiradas en la naturaleza y el movimiento.

ENGLISH VERSION

Through the creation of sculptures and sculptural installations, I give substance to human-centric controversial matters. I examine the concept of time and how it is subjectively perceived, as well as, how we interpret it in the present moment. Through space and matter, I emphasize in the qualities of organic and fluid, versus structured and static. How the whole as a concept or element, decomposes and becomes the autonomous; and how the conscious and subconscious reality, intertwine and ultimately manifest through a multidimensional contemporary gaze.
In my compositions I use mixed media, clay, plaster, plexiglass, light and video art. In the process, my interaction with substance evolved to be more organic and transformative, and inevitably clay has now become my prime form of expression.

 

Holism Variables

(«Holism» from Greek όλος holos "all, whole, entire")

I want to create 6 medium objects (approx. 20 to 30 cm long), using slab building techniques. These objects will be colored differently and own an abstract aesthetic, looking like tangled ribbons connected from start to end. These forms will be having earthy, organic qualities and at the same time, will be vibrant, bold and expressive – inspired by nature and movement.
