Trabajo con la misión de descubrir los secretos del oficio a través de la observación directa. Mis pinturas son una colección de instantes que aprisiono de la vida. Me gusta pensar que la pintura realista es una opción legítima para reconocer en la contemplación una actitud ante el mundo. Luego de varios giros en mi trabajo me siento acogido por la pintura, ha sido una pausa para reaprender a mirar, para tomarme el tiempo y pensar con las manos.

Este proyecto propone una colección de apuntes al óleo, grabados y dibujos del natural a partir de derivas por la ciudad de Buenos Aires, para forzar el encuentro con otros paisajes, calles y rostros que permiten afinar la mirada como pintor, comprender la importancia de la luz y como esta interviene en la creación de imágenes y formas, y se ve condicionada por los cambios de estación y latitud, que en un país como Ecuador no es posible experimentar.

La propuesta fue pintar in situ frente a los motivos que capturaron la atención y fueron un reflejo de la cotidianidad bonaerense y forzar el encuentro con el imaginario construido, principalmente por la literatura y la música, sobre esta ciudad siendo extranjero.

 

ENGLISH VERSION

I work with the mission of discovering the secrets of the trade through direct observation. My paintings are a collection of moments that I capture from life. I like to think that realistic painting is a legitimate option to recognize in contemplation an attitude towards the world. After several turns in my work I feel welcomed by painting, it has been a pause to relearn how to look, to take the time and think with my hands.

 

This project proposes a collection of notes in oil, engravings and drawings from life from drifts around the city of Buenos Aires, to force the encounter with other landscapes, streets and faces that allow us to refine our gaze as a painter, understand the importance of Light and how it intervenes in the creation of images and shapes, and is conditioned by changes in season and latitude, which in a country like Ecuador it is not possible to experience.

 

The proposal was to paint in situ in front of the motifs that captured the attention and were a reflection of Buenos Aires daily life and to force the encounter with the imaginary built, mainly by literature and music, about this city being a foreigner.
