Los límites son un espacio de tensiones, el punto de encuentro donde algo deja de ser “eso” para ser “otra cosa”. Mi obra plantea interrogantes con el fin de estremecer esas frágiles líneas donde los opuestos confluyen. Me interesa lo extraño, lo orgánico y lo ambiguo. Estas características se manifiestan en la estética de mi obra, manejando un equilibro donde la sutileza y la abyección conviven y en los materiales como el látex, la saliva, el pelo y gelatinas. Partiendo de ahí mi trabajo pretende ser un puente de acceso a un lugar indeterminado, seductor y amenazante.

"Efervescencias"
 

Vivimos en un contexto hostil con el cuerpo. Entre presiones sociales y culturales, jerarquizaciones infundadas, y un intento desesperado por homogeneizar terminamos por desterrar lo abyecto a un lugar prohibido y delicioso del que huimos inútilmente. Sumado a todo el peso que recae sobre los hombros la pandemia recrudeció las diferenciaciones y dolencias. Salimos analfabetas del contacto, pero habidos del mismo y mucho más cercanos de la fragilidad de nuestra existencia.
Esta obra reflexiona acerca de las formas de control sobre el cuerpo y como estas condenan a los que se fugan o amenazan con hacerlo y nos recuerda nuestra cercanía con el terreno de lo monstruoso. En el intento de adaptarse, pero incapaces de seguir un ideal estos cuerpos se construyeron sabiéndose monstruosos.
En ese sentido propongo la creación de una serie de esculturas/ prótesis/ prendas que puedan usarse. Una característica de las prótesis es que surgen desde una carencia, un dolor, una sensibilidad, un vacío, o una posibilidad de crear y adicionar. Pretendo trabajar desde ahí la prótesis, desde su potencial de transformar, pensarse, pensar al otro. Estas piezas pretenden poner en tensión la superficialidad del cuerpo. Acoger y abrazar al monstruo y regocijarse dentro de él.

The limits are a space of tensions, the meeting point where something stops being “that” to be “something else”. My work raises questions in order to shake those fragile lines where opposites come together. I am interested in the strange, the organic and the ambiguous. These characteristics are manifested in the aesthetics of my work, managing a balance where subtlety and abjection coexist and in materials such as latex, saliva, hair and jellies. Starting from there, my work aims to be a bridge to an indeterminate, seductive and threatening place.

We live in a hostile context with the body. Between social and cultural pressures, unfounded hierarchies, and a desperate attempt to homogenize, we end up banishing the abject to a forbidden and delicious place from which we flee to no avail. Added to all the weight that falls on the shoulders, the pandemic intensified the differentiations and ailments. We came out illiterate from contact, but aware of it and much closer to the fragility of our existence.

This work reflects on the forms of control over the body and how these condemn those who run away or threaten with doing so and reminds us of our closeness to the terrain of the monstrous. In an attempt to adapt, but unable to follow an ideal, these bodies were built knowing they were monstrous.
In this sense, I propose the creation of a series of sculptures/prostheses/garments that can be used. A characteristic of prostheses is that they arise from a lack, a pain, a sensitivity, a void, or a possibility to create and add. I intend to work on the prosthesis from there, from its potential to transform, think about, think about the other. These pieces try to stress the superficiality of the body. Welcome and embrace the monster and rejoice within it.
