Artistic Residency Program in Bogotá

Taller Trez

Camilo Cuervo and Felipe Celis

Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Graphic Arts, Editorial Design, Fanzine.

Taller Trez opens its doors to national and international artists interested in developing projects and research focused on traditional printmaking, exploring its various possibilities and processes, and emphasizing their value beyond merely being tools for image reproduction. The studio was born out of a desire to connect traditional printing techniques (woodcut, screen printing, etc.) with contemporary expressions and issues.

We hope that residents approach their time in the studio not as the end of a process—of a finished image to be printed—but as its beginning, where technical exploration, the interaction of processes, textures, and surfaces offer endless creative possibilities. The studio functions as an autonomous workspace.

Facilities

The studio is located on the first floor of a house in the La Soledad neighborhood, where the former rooms define the division of workspaces. The first area is a shared space for drawing, conversation, and more. There are three specialized rooms: one for printmaking (wood and metal), one for screen printing, and another for lithography. Additionally, there are two social areas, a kitchen, and a patio equipped for working with acids and a washing zone.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Artists in the space

Taller Trez is a space for creation, reflection, and the promotion of graphic arts, supporting both collective and personal projects. In 2010, a group of printmaking artists came together for the first time through the project “Minitrez Small Format Printmaking Contest.” From that initiative, the group was formed and began developing projects through printmaking and exchanges with other spaces on both local and national levels.

In 2011, they officially opened their studio, and in 2012, they moved to the location where they continue to operate today. The studio and its members have participated in festivals at both national and international levels, where, in addition to exhibiting their work, they have led workshops in cultural centers and various public and private educational spaces.
