Somatic Practices | 5th Edition Micro-Residency: A Isla

In the 5th Edition of the Micro-Residency: A Isla, mornings were dedicated to silence and introspection. We proposed starting each day with somatic practices to connect with our bodies and the surrounding environment.
For this edition, we had the participation of Cristina Figueroa, a visual artist and professor at Universidad El Bosque and Universidad de los Andes. In her workshop "Allowing Oneself to Be Kneaded by the Rhythms of Cachipay," she proposed morning practices of silence, body, and drawing to explore rhythms through the eight senses. Taking advantage of the surroundings, this dynamic took place around Hacienda Santa Inés—in spaces that formerly housed agricultural production areas, offices, and automotive workshops, as well as by the river—using the body to activate the history of the place and connection with the present. Water, vegetation, breathing, and sensitivity were key elements in connecting with the context and reflecting on how each sense intervenes in the perception of stimuli, both in the individual and shared body.
Soon we will share more processes and activities carried out during this edition.
