Aleteo
Gabriela Marulanda
Sculpture, ceramics, and installation
Aleteo is more than just a ceramics studio — it’s a learning experiment. A sandbox — or mudbox — where, through play, they seek to question the world and the ways we inhabit it. They understand creation through fiction: art channeling its power through hands that warm the clay — a methodology and a search not for absolute truths, but for questions that bring us closer to experiencing plural truths.
Gabriela proposes an exploration of ceramics through possible sensitive and affective relationships with the world. For this reason, she opens her creative space to those interested in crossing projects and creative processes whose starting point is ceramic material.
Facilities
It's a house with several spaces dedicated to art, including a gallery space, several artist studios, a ceramics workshop open to the public, and a space equipped for relief printing and screen printing. Common areas include two gardens with seating areas, a front garage, and a kitchenette with a coffee maker and electric kettle.
The fundamental rules are always to leave the workspace clean after use, as well as the common areas and equipment, and always to respect everyone present in the workshop.
Schedule
Monday to Friday from 9 am to 9 pm.
Artists in the space
My business partner and I studied architecture, where we took ceramics classes that introduced us to hand-building as a methodological approach to explore our interests. We chose to continue working with clay after graduating, as it became a shared language for investigating the themes we both wanted to pursue.
