Quiasmo Taller Galería is a self-managed project founded in 2012 as a meeting point and conversation space for friends, neighbors, and children sharing an interest in arts and crafts.
Beyond serving as a studio for its core artists, the space hosts multiple initiatives including En el Taller - a creative lab offering classes for children and youth. It also facilitates collective activities like sewing circles, workshops, lectures, and local entrepreneurship fairs.
The project includes an exhibition space activated by participating artists, with a key focus on showcasing work by children involved in the workshops.
As part of Teusaquillo's Creative District - a program led by our principal ally Mapa Teusaquillo - we co-develop activities like workshops, heritage tours, and open house events.
Facilities
The workshop is located in the garage of a family home and art gallery, covering an area of 15 m². It features both natural and artificial lighting, along with a concrete laundry and drying area.
All work tables, the clay roller, pottery wheels (both electric and kick wheels), and tools are available for visitors to use. The electric and gas kilns, however, are for exclusive use by workshop staff and may not be operated without supervision.
The space includes a shared kitchen, bathroom, and gallery/exhibition area that can be used collaboratively or rented as needed. As part of a family home, we encourage respectful coexistence by maintaining comfortable noise levels and healthy work practices. The use of drugs and alcohol is prohibited.
Schedule
To be coordinated with the artist.
Artists in the space
María is an artist and ceramist, currently apprenticing in pottery. Since 2015, she has run Salvaje - a clay-based design and experimentation studio. Her practice involves researching traditional communities working with this raw material, exploring relationships between clay, landscape, territory, and craft. She has participated in exhibitions and residencies across Colombia and internationally.
