Residencies
Artistic Residency Program in Bogotá
At R.A.R.O. Bogotá, we offer two types of residencies based on the interests of each artist. We currently have two open calls:
-
3rd Edition of R.A.R.O. Bogotá – July 8 to August 18, 2025
Includes work in studios that are part of the R.A.R.O. Bogotá Network, a final exhibition week, curatorial support, guidance from the R.A.R.O. Team, workshops, and guided visits through the city’s art scene.
For this edition, we will be joined by Paola Peña, contemporary art researcher and curator. We will soon announce available scholarships, new studios, and the exhibition space.
-
Micro-Residencies (open year-round)
A shorter program with the same intensity and guidance, allowing R.A.R.O. residents to work across different disciplines with the support of our network of local ateliers.
Includes: weeks of work in R.A.R.O. Network studios, guidance from the R.A.R.O. Team, and guided visits to the city’s art circuit.

Itinerant Dynamics
The core of the R.A.R.O. residencies is the opportunity to create, collaborate, and share with various artists in their studios during the residency period.
The decentralized and itinerant nature of the program allows residents to work in two or more local artist studios in Bogotá over a short period, delving into one or several disciplines. Thanks to the network of local artist spaces that make up the project, each resident can choose where to carry out part of their production and develop collaborative work.
The selection of studios depends on the techniques each artist wishes to explore and on each studio’s availability.
During their stay, residents will be able to share their work and connect with local artists, curators, collectors, and researchers.
In the case of the full residency, the work produced will be presented in a final exhibition, and residents will be supported by invited curators throughout the process.
R.A.R.O. Dates
The call for the 3rd edition of the Bogotá program is currently open until May 26 (11:00 p.m. GMT). This edition will take place from July 8 to August 18, 2025.
The call for Microresidencies is open year-round, and dates can be coordinated according to studio availability.
Participants
R.A.R.O. residencies are open to artists, researchers, cultural managers, curators, and other professionals — both from the arts and from other disciplines — who are interested in creating spaces for reflection, production, and exchange.
Fees, Grants and Opportunities
The cost of each residency varies based on its duration and the studios chosen. To determine the final cost of the program, you must apply.
Interested artists may apply for scholarships periodically offered by R.A.R.O. or apply for external funding. In that case, the R.A.R.O. team can provide invitation letters and any documentation necessary to support the application.
